Why we replaced this article

The previous version mixed tenure, title structure and buyer eligibility. It also contained unreliable CPF and financing thresholds, HDB and EC statements, foreign-buyer guidance and forecasts. Its worked example and diagrams should not be used to make a purchase decision.

We removed that material rather than preserve two competing guides. The replacement separates the title, co-ownership, eligibility and funding questions, and asks readers to verify them against the actual home and buyer profile.

If you saved or shared the earlier text or charts, use the replacement article instead. It is general editorial guidance; an individual purchase still needs its own documentary, legal and financing checks.
