Compare the flat price and the support you will use
HDB lists an estimated 39 sqm overall and 36 sqm of internal area for the Community Care Apartments. The same development also has 2-room Flexi flats listed with estimated internal areas of 38 sqm and 46 sqm. Compare layouts, lease options you qualify for, actual quoted prices and the cost of arranging support. The project price table uses different lease bases, so a headline price comparison leaves out an important part of the decision.
Make a budget for purchase and care
Set out the eligible lease and grant, the flat price, the Basic Service Package payment terms and any optional services you expect to use. Compare that budget with a 2-room Flexi option and the cost of arranging support independently. Ask what services are included and how changes in your needs would affect your spending. The launch annex estimates a 45-month wait, measured from the median month of selection to the median projected block completion. A household budgeting an extra S$500 a month for housing and care over 45 months would set aside S$22,500. That is a hypothetical allowance. Use your own expected costs and the period you expect to pay them. Plan where you will live and how you will arrange care in the meantime.
